Book Description:
Her soft golden skin, her warm smile…these are the only images Veronica Austin has left of her mother who disappeared without a trace twenty years ago on the streets of Minneapolis while researching the Ramanga, the Lamia, the Metusba, and the Lugat. Known only as the Deamhan, they are a different breed from the modern bloodsucking vampire.

A stranger to this world,  Veronica’s search for the truth about her mother’s unexplained disappearance takes her into their sinister and precarious world. She gains the trust of the only other human familiar with the Deamhan lifestyle. With his help she finds not only can the Deamhan not be trusted but it’s her own father, president of a ruthful organization of researchers, who has diabolically maintained that distrust.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I would like to have the ability to control atoms. Almost everything in the world is made up of atoms, right? Could you imagine what type of power someone could have with that ability?

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Knowing that readers have enjoyed what I've written is the most rewarding experience. As humans, we like being recognized for an achievement, especially if it's something that you feel you worked hard for. It's no different with me. Receiving emails, messages, and reviews, good or bad.
So far it's been a nonstop rollercoaster ride and I don't want to get off.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Deamhan takes the oversaturated vampire genre, twisting it and introducing different and dangerous vampire types, like psychic vampires, that have been ignored by writers throughout the centuries.

Favorite food?
I absolutely LOVE Pico de Gallo. I can eat it nonstop, with or without chips, for days. I have actually.

What book are reading now?
Currently I'm reading nothing now. However, the last book I read was Autotherapy by Sakina Murdock. It's a good murder/mystery set in the background of a small town. The book is very thorough, the characters engaging which kept me interested. I highly recommend it!

What’s your favorite season/weather?
I grew up in Minnesota so as a child, I loved Winter. I guess that's because my parents celebrated the seasons with me and my siblings. My mother loved making homemade applesauce and my father loved making Malt O Meal.
As I got older Fall became my favorite season. Watching the leaves turn colors, the cloudy skies- it was perfect writing weather.

What was your favorite children's book?
There's one book my mother bought me when I was younger that I used to read all the time. Jillian Jiggs. I used to love when her mother said "Jillian, Jillian, Jillian Jiggs. It looks like your room has lived in by pigs." She had a vivid imagination and dressed up constantly, which cluttered her bedroom. I never got tired of that book.

Beach or Pool?
Ohhh that's a hard one. I guess it depends on what beach. Last year I had the chance to go to the Caribbean for a video game tournament and it was absolutely amazing. So I'd have to say the beach . . . in the Caribbean.

What is one book everyone should read?
Tristessa by Jack Kerouac. It's my favorite novel of all time. It's right under 100 pages so it's not a long read, but it's a fantastic story.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
Besides Deamhan I also have a self-published called Sphere. It's is a serial novel released in episodes ranging between 15,000-18,000 words. It follows Tayla, a teenager girl who suddenly finds out that she's descended from Carriers, humans who have gifts that are powered by their spheres. She finds out that her gift is the strongest and the most dangerous gift a Carrier can have. She also finds herself involuntarily stuck in the middle of an upcoming war between Dark Carriers, those who use their gifts for bad, and Light Carriers, those who use their gifts for good. In the end she has to choose a side.
As a writer, I wanted to go out of my comfort zone. Deamhan is more for 18+ so I wanted to write something for ages 18 and under. I guess we call that "young adult" now.

The second book in the Deamhan Chronicles, Sensual Appetite, should be released next year.

An avid gamer, writer, and lover of history, Isaiyan Morrison was born and raised in Minnesota. She moved to San Diego, California while in the Navy. After serving four years of active duty, she moved to Los Angeles.

After a few years, she moved back to Minnesota where she started to pursue her dream to be an author.

Besides writing, she also likes to read, surf the internet, watch movies, and play video games. She likes warm drinks, pico de gallo, and her love for cilantro is legendary.

At one point she was sponsored to participate in video game tournaments. During that time she traveled to Canada, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Caribbean.

Her novel Deamhan, the first book in the Deamhan series, was accepted for publication by Rainstorm Press for release in mid 2013. She’s currently in talks to have the second book Sensual Appetite published by the same company.

Other novels the author has completed are The Carriers (Sphere Episode One,) The Bond (Sphere, Episode Two,) and Old Farmer’s Road to name a few.
